Tammy Elaine Long 58, of Dunbar WV, formerly of Gary WV, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2018, at the Hubbard Hospice House after an extended illness.
She was born January 16, 1960, in Welch, WV, to parents of Elaine Lawlah Long and the late William C. "Tommy" Long.
Tammy was a graduate of Gary High School class of 1978 and West Virginia State College {now University class of 1993 where she served on the cheerleading squad for both schools and a was member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
She confessed her love for Christ at an early age and became a member of the Rock Hill Missionary Baptist Church Gary WV and was baptized by the late Rev Mozelle S Scruggs and while residing in Dunbar WV for the past 30 plus years she attended the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Zion and the St Paul Missionary Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at AT&T for 15 years and Family Dollar and lastly working for the Dunbar Public Library
She was preceded in death by her grand-parents and her father William C. "Tommy" Long.
She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, her mother, Elaine Lawlah Long of Gary, WV, sons, William "Coty" Long of Gary, WV, Dennis (Amber Pain) of Dunbar, WV, sister, Katrina (William) Burke of Virginia Beach, VA, uncle, Wesley Bailey of Cleveland, OH, aunt, Mae Ida (Jessie) Penn of Washington, DC and a host of other family and many friends.
