Alice Mildred Higginbotham, 88, of Rand, W.Va., departed this life, Thursday, February 7, 2019, at Hubbard Hospice House following a long illness. She was born October 9, 1930, at Long Branch, W.Va., to late parents Mack Sr. and Arlein Graham.
She attended DuBois High School in Mt. Hope and later relocated to Charleston to seek employment. Mildred retired from the State of West Virginia, General Service Division, with 25 years of service. She was a member of Levi First Missionary Baptist Church in Rand.
Mildred loved to travel, paint ceramics, shop and sit on her deck while talking to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Arbra Higginbotham Sr.; sons, Roy Arbra Higginbotham Jr., Dennis Franklin Higginbotham; brothers, Kermit Graham, Donald Graham and Mack Graham Jr.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Wilma Higginbotham Davis of Rand, W.Va.; son, Patrick Andre Higginbotham of Poca, W.Va.; sisters, Artelia Reed of Utica, N.Y., Maxine Berry of Irvington, N.J., Arethea Lewis of Euclid, Ohio, Shirley (Crystal) Rogers of Rand, W.Va.; brothers, Edward Graham of Jersey City, N.J., Russell (Jackie) Graham of Elyria, Ohio, and Cleophus Graham (Lou) of Cleveland, Ohio; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
