Erma Lee “Peachie” Cashwell, 70, of Dunbar, WV, peacefully transitioned into the presence of her heavenly Father Thursday, May 12, 2022, at Hubbard Hospice House West, South Charleston. She was born February 22, 1952, in Clarksburg, WV, to the late Clem Watkins, Sr., and Mary Watkins.
Erma graduated from Victory High School in Clarksburg. She later went to work for the Department of Welfare (disabled children’s division) in South Charleston, and also worked for Union Carbide, where she retired as a Total Order Processing Clerk.
Erma attended Crossroads Fellowship Church in St. Albans, where Rev. William N. Brooks is pastor. She was an active member, serving on several outreach initiatives. Erma loved her family and friends and wanted them to experience the love of Christ for themselves by inviting them to church.
In addition to her parents, Erma is preceded in death by two grandsons, Tahzee Martin and Cameron Martin, four sisters, Ruby Tartt, Ernestine Martin, Sarah Jackson, and Maxine McDaniels, and sister-in-law, Donna Watkins.
Erma's life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughters, Nikki Martin, Dunbar, WV, and Jonetta “Jay” Canada (H. O.), South Charleston, WV, grandchildren; Taliah Cashwell and Darian Canada, great grandchildren; Dominic Johnson and Tahari Watts, siblings; Anna Lee, Cleveland, OH, Robert McDaniels, Miami, FL, Clem Watkins, Jr., Charleston, WV, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
