Evangelist Essie Mae Creach Canada, 101, formerly of Charleston, West Virginia, died Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at home in Racine, Wisconsin.
Essie attended Excelsior High School and Washington High School where she sang in the school choir and played on the basketball team as point guard.
Essie was preceded in death by her husband, Carnell Robert Canada, Sr., children, Barbara Frasier, Carolyn Canada, Betty Canada, Curtis Canada, Ronald Canada, grandson, Gregory Monroe Jackson, sisters, Elnora Miles, Pleadie Penn Walker, and brothers, Douglas Creach, and Oliver Lee Creach.
Essie leaves to cherish her precious memories, sons, Carnell Canada, Jr., (Cynthia), San Diego, CA, Thomas Canada (Cynthia), Detroit, MI, Curt Canada, Washington, D.C., Hugh Canada (Donna), and Elston Canada (Pamela), both of Charleston, WV, daughters, Garland Thompson, Kenosha, WI, Bertha Thompson, and Gwendolyn Canada-King, both of Orlando, FL, Bonnie Batts and Marilyn Helm (Charles), both of Racine, WI, Whitney Diller, Nashville, TN, Ashton Clay, Waverly, NY, Leslie Clay, and Courtney Clay-Persza, both of CA, many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
