James Leslie Powers

James Leslie Powers, 51, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2023, after a short illness at CAMC Memorial Hospice Care. He was born April 30, 1972, in Springfield, Ohio, to parents, James Powers and Sarah Smith and raised by his mother and stepfather, Dewey Smith.

James was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Powellton and employed at West Virginia State University through Goodwill Janitorial Service.

James was preceded in  death by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Smith and stepfather, Dewey Smith.

James leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Shaquinta Hill Powers, daughter, Jade Powers, Springfield, OH, son, Darius Powers, Charleston, WV, sisters, Lori Rutherford, Ronita Powers, and Rachel Rowe, all of Springfield, OH, several stepbrothers and stepsisters, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
