Mary Frances Foye

Mary Frances Foye, 69, of Charleston, West Virginia, was called home to rest in God’s loving arms. She was born in Kanawha City, WV, December 24, 1953, to the late William Murphy and Mary Frances Steele Foye. Mary attended Charleston High School, where she was well-liked by her teachers and peers. Before her passing she was working at Kroger in Louisville, Kentucky, and attended Greater Life Apostolic Church. Mary traveled and lived in several states with family and friends before returning to WV. While living in WV, she established the Alabaster Box Ministries. This ministry was a beacon of hope to many women, providing a healthy, safe, and family-like environment to support long-term recovery. As an extension of the Alabaster Box Ministry, Mary established a prison ministry and fed the homeless community in Charleston, WV. She also journeyed to Mexico for a mission trip.

Mary had a remarkable ability to overcome any obstacle. She continued to help family and friends after suffering a difficult period in her own life. Observing her unbreakable spirit while winning the battle over breast cancer was mesmerizing. Looking back now, Mary was constantly breaking barriers, uplifting spirits, and being the magical and awe-inspiring person God created her to be. She was always willing to help her family members and friends, enriching the lives of those she loved.

Mary was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brittany Weldon,  sisters, Arthuretta Elmore and Cheardenia Green, and brother, William Murphy Foye, Jr.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Tonya Wilson (Shawn), sons, Anthony Foye and Kenneth Foye, grandchildren, Jaleasa Foye, Chanel Foye, Damon Smith, Lyneshia Weldon, Anthony Foye, Jr., Luke Foye, Kendrick Foye, Justyn Foye, Deavin Rogan, and Jazzi Foye, ten great grandchildren, sister, Brenda Foye, special brother, Paris Foye (Sharon), aunts, uncles, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives, and friends. Along with immediate family, and extended family, Mary will be greatly missed by many friends who adored her.
