Michael Emmett Howard, Sr.

Michael Emmett Howard, Sr., 73, of Cross Lanes, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023. It is with profound sadness that the family announces his peaceful passing.

Born to Richard and Anna Howard on June 24, 1950, Michael was a graduate of Montgomery High School and Shepherd College. He retired as Human Resources Manager after 34 years at American Electric Power. Michael loved his family, job, and coworkers. He held memberships in both the Salvation Army and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

Mike made such a positive impact on the world by dedicating his life to helping others and propelling humanity forward. Some of his proudest moments were spent as a football coach to local youth in Dunbar, WV. Michael frequently inspired those around him to always prefer the challenges of life to the guaranteed existence. He will  be remembered as a true inspiration and his legacy will continue to inspire others to make a difference.
