Robert Dennis "Dooney" Boxley

Robert Dennis “Dooney” Boxley, 69, of Charleston, West Virginia, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Monday, January 2, 2023, at CAMC, surrounded by family. He was born December 22, 1953, to the late James Boxley, Sr., and Sarah Boxley.

Robert, also known as Dooney, had nicknames which were Box, Red, and Captain. He had an amazing and humorous personality and everyone who met Dooney loved him. Dooney worked for multiple construction companies during his career. He was a proud father to his daughter, Elizabeth, whom he called Boo. She was the love of his life. Dooney was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns football team and loved watching sports as well as old western movies. He was also an inactive member of Riverview Baptist Church, Charleston.

We thank the Lord Jesus Christ for the time our family and friends had to enjoy and cherish Dooney’s presence while here on earth.

Dooney will be missed with cherished memories by his daughter, Elizabeth Boxley, Nitro, WV, brothers, James Boxley ( Johna), Spokane, WA, and Paul Boxley (Priscilla), Oxen Hill, MD, and sisters, Shirley Smith, and Gloria Brown (Timothy), both of Charleston, WV, special friends Darlene Green,  Jimmy Green, Debra Smith, Mary Lackey, and many more.
