Robert Lee "Robbie" Desmond

Robert Lee “Robbie” Desmond, 56, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023, of an unexpected illness.

Robbie was born December 29, 1966, and graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1984. He was a former employee of Fifth Quarter restaurant, where he really enjoyed working.

Robbie consistently volunteered at Orchard Manor Switzer Food Pantry in his community, where Ms. Virginia is in charge.

Robbie was preceded in death by his mother, Geraldine Desmond, bonus parents, Cecil and Alberta Mayfield, sisters, Bernice Desmond and  Abigail “Gail” Mayfield, and daughter, LaKeysha Lee Bennett.

Robbie is survived by his daughter, Shayla “Shay” Runion, grandson, Eli Kian Lee Bennett, siblings, Velma “Nana” Desmond-Foster, Glenda L. Desmond, Carlena N.”Tinkle” Desmond Foster,  Clifford E. Desmond-Clement, Alphonso “Al” Desmond, Thomas “Tommie” Wallace (Patricia), Cecil Mayfield, Maurice Toler, nephew, Eric Desmond, who was Robbie’s buddy, special friend, Rae Ann Walker, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends, who will sadly miss him.
