Robert "Bobby" Lee Booker, Jr., of Rand, departed this life, February 26, 2019. He was born December 14, 1924, to the late Robert Lee Booker, Sr. and Rosa Lee Booker.
Bobby attended Garnet High School in Charleston. He served his country in the Army during World War II, from July 9, 1943 through February 5, 1946. Bobby retired from Union Carbide and was a member of Levi First Missionary Baptist Church in Rand, where he served as a deacon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma “Odessa” Freeman Booker, brothers; Emmett “Gene” Booker, Samuel “Donald” Booker and John Henry Booker; and sister, Lou Anna Jones.
Bobby is survived by daughters, Lucille Nelson of Columbus, Ohio, and Stephanie Booker of Charlotte, North Carolina; granddaughter, Cortney (DeOnté) Coppage of Winterville, North Carolina; great-grandson, DeOnté "Detu" Coppage, Jr. of Winterville, North Carolina; sisters, Lorene Craig of Lancaster, Texas, Antionette Hairston of Gary, Indiana, Bonnie Wilson and Carol "Mona" Collier of Chicago, Illinois, and Sandra "Kay" (Robert) Wesley of Dunbar, West Virginia; several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
