Robert “Bobby” Huston Wilson, 66, of Columbus, OH, was born May 6, 1956, to Phillip and Edna Wilson, now deceased. He passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022.
Bobby was a graduate of South Charleston High School and attended West Virginia State College. He worked for American Electric Power Company and retired in 2018 after 40 years of service. Bobby was a Senior Transmission Construction Representative and was an avid sports fan, enjoying watching as many games as he could in various sports. When asked who his favorite team was, Bobby would often reply “whichever one is covering the point spread.” Bobby spent several years as President of the Kanawha Valley Midget League football program and made a vital impact in the life of youth in his community. Bobby was the epitome of a family man, always willing to help at the drop of a hat for his loved ones. Known for his quick wit and honest responses, Bobby was everybody’s “main man.”
Bob and Von loved to travel and have been to some of the most beautiful destinations in the world, the Bahamas, Jamaica, Aruba, Hawaii, Cancun, etc. He will surely be missed and never forgotten by all his family and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Phillip H. Wilson, mother, Edna L. Wilson and son, Michael L. Wilson.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 43 years, Yvonne Z. Wilson, and son, Robert H. Wilson, Jr., both of Columbus, OH, and brother, Phillip L. Wilson (Renee), Acworth, GA. He will be sadly missed by his three grandchildren, Christina Wilson, Anthony Wilson, both of West Warrick, RI, and Xavier Wilson, Columbus, OH.
