Scarlet Easley Woody, 61, of Charleston, West Virginia, received her wings at CAMC General, Saturday, March 11, 2023, surrounded by family. She was born August 23, 1961, in Charleston, WV, to the late Alyce Easley and James Woody. Scarlet was the third child of five children born to Alyce.
Scarlet was educated in Kanawha County public schools. She relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for several years only to return to her hometown of Charleston. Scarlet was a lifelong Charleston resident and to know Scarlet was to love her. She had a pure heart of gold and never met a stranger. Scarlet would talk to everyone she met.
During her 61 years, Scarlet touched many lives, and her loving spirit will be remembered for many years. She loved life, family, children and just having a good time with fun and laughter. Although Scarlet didn’t have children of her own, she adored her nieces, nephews, and all children she met.
Scarlet was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Walter Easley, nephews, Jason Easley (Mikey), Bias Easley, and Joey Easley.
Scarlet is survived by her brother, Joe Easley (Dottie), Charlotte, NC, sisters, Vivian Easley, Fort Washington, MD, and Izetta Easley, Columbia MD, nephews, Shawn Branham, Chris Easley, Rumeel Easley, Alex Parker, Aaron Parker, and Isaiah Coulter, niece, Ashlea Parker, the apple of Scarlet’s eye, 15 great nephews and nieces, special cousin, Angie Easley Washington, and extended family, Jackie Watson, Shelia Watson, Debbie Watson, and Tony Watson, all of Charleston.
